Lead Developer (KTP Associate)

Salary £25,000 – £32,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience

Plus a £4,000 Personal Development budget and the opportunity to register for a higher degree

Is developing an innovative SaaS platform and scaling cloud-based software architecture your thing?

Would working in an established company which thinks like a startup, works out of a co-working space, and operates a loose hierarchy where ideas overrule job titles be your ideal workplace?

This 2 year role offers an excellent opportunity of leading to a permanent position and benefitting from future profit-sharing schemes.

The Role

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated graduate to lead and deliver a two year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project between Colony101 and the University of Brighton.  This two year project will embed visual language and open cloud-based software architecture expertise to facilitate the development of an innovative automated life-cycle marketing campaign software product.

KTP supports partnerships between business and universities or research organisations, placing graduates (KTP Associates) to work on challenging, high profile projects.  Further information about KTP and the advantages of being a KTP Associate can be found at: www.ktponline.org.uk.

The Company

Colony101 develops and supplies an email and social marketing platform, providing clients with access to technology that allows them to build, deliver, and asses the success of campaigns. The company’s main product, Sentori, is provided on a ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) basis which clients pay for on a monthly basis.

The Person

The successful candidate will have a minimum 2:1 Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; you are likely to also have a Master’s degree which together will cover both multi-threaded software applications and cloud-based architecture (experience may replace the Master’s requirement). You will have a robust knowledge of software engineering processes and cloud computing, have expertise in design patterns particularly MVC, and development experience of C# or Java. The candidate should have knowledge of the design of scalable architectures. Experience of working with web APIs will be extremely beneficial. The ability to lead and manage a challenging technical project, a commercial aptitude and the ability to understand the needs of internal and external customers are also essential. The candidate should enjoy working as part of a small Agile/Scrum team in a fast-paced startup environment.
